Miami Dolphins Eye Potential Free Agency Target Sam LaPorta
The Miami Dolphins are currently facing salary cap difficulties but are preparing for next spring's free agency. General Manager Jon-Eric Sullivan has indicated that while the team will focus on drafting and developing players, they also aim to acquire impactful free agents.
One player of interest is tight end Sam LaPorta, who has not yet secured a contract extension with the Detroit Lions. LaPorta has expressed disappointment over the lack of a deal, especially after his strong performance in the previous season. With over 1,600 receiving yards and 17 touchdowns in his first two seasons, he is seen as a valuable addition for the Dolphins.
LaPorta, who will turn 26 in January, is considered to be in the prime of his career. While the Lions could potentially use the franchise tag on him, the Dolphins are optimistic about his availability in the future, making him a key target as they look to enhance their roster.
