Miami Dolphins Hold Workouts for UFL's Top QB and WR Duo
The Miami Dolphins recently held workouts for Austin Reed, the top quarterback from the UFL's Dallas Renegades, and receiver Tyler Vaughns. This event took place last week, following the team's earlier tryout with UFL MVP quarterback Jack Plummer.
Austin Reed, who previously played for Western Kentucky, made a significant impact in the UFL with over 1900 passing yards and 21 touchdowns during his season with the Renegades. Despite leading the league in passing touchdowns, he also recorded nine interceptions. Reed has experience as a backup quarterback and was part of the 2024 draft class.
Tyler Vaughns, a 29-year-old receiver from USC, has been a reliable target in spring football leagues, accumulating 1,807 receiving yards and 15 touchdowns over four seasons. Although he has not played in an NFL regular-season game, his size and experience could benefit the Dolphins' young receiving corps. The team has been exploring options to enhance their roster, having worked out several UFL players recently, though no signings have been made yet.
