Miami Dolphins Sign Receiver Will Sheppard to Support Backup QB Kyle McCord

Sheppard, who previously played for the Green Bay Packers, developed a strong connection with McCord during the preseason, being targeted on 22% of his routes and catching 9 of 12 passes, including a touchdown. His familiarity with McCord is expected to ease the transition for both players as they adapt to their new environment in Miami.

Sheppard, a former All-SEC selection, went undrafted in 2025 but has shown promise as a big-bodied receiver at 6-foot-3 and 196 pounds. His presence on the practice squad could enhance the Dolphins' offensive options as they prepare for the upcoming season.
