Miami Dolphins Trade Tutu Atwell for Jarquez Hunter
The Miami Dolphins executed a trade on Thursday, sending wide receiver Tutu Atwell to the Los Angeles Rams in exchange for running back Jarquez Hunter. This move reflects the Dolphins' ongoing roster adjustments under new general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan.
Atwell, who was signed to a one-year deal earlier this offseason, was traded for Hunter, a second-year running back. The Dolphins have secured Hunter under a three-year contract worth $3.36 million, which extends their control over him through the 2026, 2027, and 2028 seasons. In contrast, Atwell's signing bonus of $187,500 now contributes to the Dolphins' dead cap for 2026.
This trade allows the Dolphins to enhance their roster while minimizing financial risk, as they will not incur further costs associated with Atwell's guaranteed salary.
