Miami Dolphins' Trey Moore to Undergo Surgery After Injury
The Miami Dolphins are still seeking their first preseason victory under new head coach Jeff Hafley. Their recent game against the New York Giants resulted in a significant setback with linebacker Trey Moore suffering an ankle injury.
Moore's injury occurred in the first quarter while attempting to pressure Giants quarterback Jameis Winston. After jumping to block a pass, he landed awkwardly, twisting his left leg and was unable to get up. Following evaluation by trainers, he was assisted off the field without being able to put weight on his leg.
The Dolphins' defense is currently facing challenges, with nine players listed as questionable and one on injured reserve. In contrast, the offense has fewer injury concerns. As the Dolphins prepare for their final preseason game against the Atlanta Falcons, the management of these injuries will be crucial for Hafley. With Moore out, Willie Gay Jr. is next in line, while Cam Riley and Jaheim Thomas will also compete for playing time. Roster cuts are approaching on August 30th, and the team's performance without Moore could influence their decisions.
