Miami (Fla.) Remains Top in AP Poll; Ohio State Climbs to No. 2
In the latest Associated Press Top 25 poll, Miami (Fla.) maintained its position as the top-ranked team, while Ohio State ascended to No. 2 after a series of upsets impacted the rankings. This shift followed BYU's loss at UCF, causing them to drop six spots to No. 8.
Over the past three weeks, ten top-10 teams have lost, marking a tumultuous season reminiscent of 2007. Miami (Fla.), Utah, and UCLA are the only unbeaten teams left in the Bowl Subdivision, the fewest at this stage since 1977. Miami recently defeated Pitt 52-23, earning 59 of 70 first-place votes.
Georgia moved up to No. 3, Indiana to No. 4, and Notre Dame slipped to No. 5. Utah and UCLA also achieved their highest rankings in several years. Wisconsin made headlines by defeating No. 17 USC, marking its return to the rankings.
