Micah Parsons Claims Superior Football Intelligence Among NFL Pass Rushers

Micah Parsons, an edge rusher for the Green Bay Packers, stated on Monday that his football intelligence sets him apart from other pass rushers in the NFL. During an appearance on NFL Network’s Inside Training Camp Live, he discussed his ability to command the defensive front and read opposing offenses.

The remarks came as Parsons continues his recovery from a torn ACL and meniscus sustained in December 2025. He had recorded 12.5 sacks that season before the injury, ranking seventh in the league. Acquired by the Packers in a trade from the Dallas Cowboys, Parsons has established himself as a versatile defender since being drafted in 2021, accumulating 65 career sacks and earning five Pro Bowl selections.

Parsons emphasized his understanding of protections and situational football as key advantages. He is currently on the physically unable to perform list as he rehabilitates, with a potential return around midseason. While the Packers begin the 2026 season without him, his return could significantly enhance their defense. His focus remains on long-term readiness as he continues to engage with teammates during training camp.
