Micah Parsons Discusses Injury Recovery and Future with Packers
Micah Parsons, the edge defender for the Green Bay Packers, is over nine months into his recovery from an ACL tear and has discussed his situation on his podcast, The Edge. Although he is eligible to return from the physically unable to perform list, he has not yet practiced.
Parsons underwent surgery on December 29, which included cleaning up his meniscus. The Packers typically follow a nine-month no-football guideline for such injuries, which has now passed. He explained that he is focused on ensuring all aspects of his recovery are addressed to prevent future injuries, particularly overcompensation issues.
The Packers traded significant assets to acquire Parsons, indicating a long-term investment in his talent. Head coach Matt LaFleur has indicated that Parsons' return is approaching, with potential practice next week. While a return to game action is anticipated by Week 9 or 10, Parsons aims to ensure he is fully prepared before stepping back onto the field.
