Micah Parsons Predicted to Break NFL Sack Record
Micah Parsons, an edge rusher for the Green Bay Packers, has been predicted by ESPN analyst Seth Walder to break the NFL's single-season sack record, which is currently 23 sacks held by Myles Garrett.
Parsons has never exceeded 14 sacks in a season, but his career pass rush win rate of 29% since entering the league in 2021 is the highest among players, indicating his potential for greater sack totals. Walder believes that Parsons can achieve this feat on a stronger Packers team compared to his previous experience with the Cowboys.
Parsons is currently recovering from a torn ACL and meniscus procedure, which may delay his return until the early part of the 2026 season. His former defensive coordinator, Jeff Hafley, expressed confidence in Parsons' ability to return stronger and potentially break the record next year. Before his injury, Parsons recorded 12.5 sacks in 14 games, making him the first player in NFL history to achieve at least 12.5 sacks in each of his first five seasons.
