Michael Carrick Calls for More Signings Before Transfer Deadline
Manchester United's head coach Michael Carrick has expressed the club's desire for further signings before the summer transfer window closes on September 1. So far, the team has acquired Andrey Santos, Youri Tielemans, and goalkeeper Karl Darlow, focusing on strengthening the midfield following Casemiro's departure.
United has invested approximately £85 million in Santos and Tielemans while also bringing in Darlow on a free transfer. Despite these additions, there is a growing demand among fans for more activity in the transfer market. Carrick has acknowledged the improvements made but insists that the club is actively seeking additional reinforcements.
In addition to transfer activities, Marcus Rashford has returned to the squad after a loan spell at Barcelona, where the club opted not to activate a buy option. Carrick noted Rashford's positive impact during training and his familiarity with the club. United is also exploring options for a left-back and potentially a third central midfielder, although the likelihood of adding a forward appears low with Rashford's return.
