Michael Carrick Challenges Perception of Easy Start for Manchester United
Michael Carrick, the head coach of Manchester United, has responded to suggestions that his team has an easy start to the Premier League season. He described such claims as ridiculous, especially as they prepare to face Hull City, the Championship play-off winners, followed by Ipswich Town, another newly promoted team.
Carrick pointed out that playing against newly promoted teams, particularly away from home, presents significant challenges. He emphasized that the notion of a favorable start is misleading and that his team must be fully prepared for the tough matches ahead.
Last season, Carrick led Manchester United to a third-place finish, winning 12 out of 15 games, which contributed to his permanent appointment as head coach.
