Michael DiPietro Achieves First NHL Shutout on Hockey Fights Cancer Night
Michael DiPietro, goaltender for the Boston Bruins, achieved his first NHL shutout in a 6-0 victory against the Nashville Predators during Hockey Fights Cancer Night at TD Garden.
DiPietro made 28 saves in the match, which held personal significance as he lost his mother, Rebecca, to cancer when he was five years old. He expressed that this moment was meaningful not only for him but also for his family and friends.
This season marks DiPietro's full-time role in the NHL after previously being recognized as the AHL's Most Outstanding Player with the Providence Bruins. He has started three games this season, securing two wins with a .941 save percentage and a 1.69 goals-against average.
