Michael Jordan's 1998 NBA Finals Game 3 Jersey Set for Auction
The jersey worn by Michael Jordan in Game 3 of the 1998 NBA Finals is set to be auctioned this fall, with an estimated value of over $10 million. This significant piece of sports memorabilia is being sold by Joopiter, an auction house founded by Pharrell Williams.
During the game, the Chicago Bulls faced the Utah Jazz, winning decisively 96-54, with Jordan scoring 24 points. This victory contributed to the Bulls' eventual championship win, marking Jordan's sixth title. The jersey has been authenticated and photo-matched to the game by MeiGray.
Bidding for the jersey will commence on September 15, and if it meets its estimated value, it could break the record for the highest price paid for a basketball jersey at auction. The current record stands at $10.1 million for another of Jordan's jerseys from the same Finals series. Joopiter plans to host live events in New York City and Los Angeles to promote the auction.
