Michael Jordan's 1998 NBA Finals Jersey Fetches $14 Million at Auction
A jersey worn by Michael Jordan during the 1998 NBA Finals has been sold for a record $14 million, according to Hunt Auctions. This sale marks the highest price ever paid for a single piece of basketball memorabilia.
The red road jersey was worn by Jordan in Game 2 of the Finals against the Utah Jazz, where the Bulls secured a victory. The buyer, Ron Firman, a real-estate investor from Florida, acquired the jersey through a private treaty sale.
This sale highlights Jordan's significant impact on basketball, as he was named Finals MVP during all six championship years with the Bulls. However, the jersey's sale price is still below the record for all sports memorabilia, which is held by a Babe Ruth jersey that sold for $24.12 million in 2024.
