Michael La Sasso Claims First Win at LIV Golf Indianapolis
Michael La Sasso, a 22-year-old rookie, achieved his first professional victory at LIV Golf Indianapolis, which may mark the final event in LIV Golf's history. Jon Rahm's Legion XIII team secured its second consecutive title during this event held in Westfield, Indiana.
The cancellation of the Team Championship in Michigan made this event the last of LIV Golf's fifth season. The Saudi Public Investment Fund announced plans to cease funding LIV after 2026, although a new lead investor has been identified, pending finalization.
La Sasso, who turned professional in January, finished with a bogey-free 5-under 65, totaling 18 under for the tournament, one shot ahead of Rahm, who recorded a 7-under 63. The league stated that the team with the best score in Indianapolis would be recognized as the 2026 champion, receiving a reduced bonus of $8.4 million.
