Michael Morales Faces Weight Challenge Ahead of UFC Title Shot
Michael Morales, an undefeated welterweight, is preparing for an unexpected title shot at UFC 336 scheduled for January. He will compete for the interim title against Carlos Prates after champion Islam Makhachev opted to delay his return until after Ramadan.
Morales, who has a perfect record of 19-0, recently revealed he weighs 220 pounds and must cut 50 pounds to meet the championship weight requirement. He has successfully made weight for all his previous fights and aims to maintain that streak.
In addition to his weight management, Morales is looking to extend his series of post-fight bonuses, having earned three consecutive Performance of the Night awards. A fourth bonus would accompany the interim title and an additional $100,000 prize.
