Michael Penix Avoids Serious Injury, Status for Week 6 Uncertain
Falcons quarterback Michael Penix reportedly avoided a serious rib injury sustained during the team's loss to the Ravens on Sunday night. Head coach Kevin Stefanski has not yet confirmed Penix's status for the upcoming Week 6 game against the Bears.
Penix was injured on a sack during the final possession of regulation but returned to the game after missing one play. However, Tua Tagovailoa took over as quarterback after the Ravens scored a touchdown to open overtime. Penix expressed confidence that he could have continued playing if the Falcons had received the ball first.
On Monday, Stefanski indicated he would wait to assess Penix's condition over the next couple of days before making a decision. He stated that he would have more information on Wednesday regarding Penix's availability.
