Michael Penix Awaits Full Medical Clearance for Return
Michael Penix is currently awaiting full medical clearance as he recovers from knee surgery. The Falcons quarterback had a call with his doctor on Thursday night to discuss his progress.
Penix has not yet participated in team drills, which has kept him out of the starting quarterback competition. He mentioned that his doctor advised him to allow another four weeks for recovery before advancing to the next stage of his rehabilitation.
During training camp, Penix has been observing the 11-on-11 drills. He expressed confidence in his ability to evade pressure but acknowledged that he is not yet ready to take hits. His recovery follows surgery on November 25 to repair an ACL tear, and he is focused on regaining full strength in his left knee.
