Michael Penix Cleared for Full Football Activities
Michael Penix, the quarterback for the Falcons, has been restricted in practice throughout the summer, but this week he has been cleared for all football activities.
Following a meeting with his doctors, Penix received the go-ahead from head coach Kevin Stefanski, who informed reporters after Saturday’s preseason game. Although Penix has participated in training camp while recovering from a torn ACL, he had not engaged in 11-on-11 drills until now.
The competition for the starting quarterback role between Penix and Tua Tagovailoa was paused until Penix was cleared, but it can now proceed. The Falcons are set to play their final preseason game in Miami next Friday, where Tagovailoa is anticipated to participate after missing Saturday’s game against the Colts. Stefanski has not confirmed whether Penix will play in that game, which will be closely monitored by the team.
