Michael Penix Jr. Cleared for Full Practice Ahead of Falcons vs. Dolphins
The Atlanta Falcons have received positive news regarding quarterback Michael Penix Jr. as he has been cleared to return to full-team practice ahead of their matchup with the Miami Dolphins.
Penix had previously been limited to individual drills and 7-on-7 sessions but is now set to participate in 11-on-11 drills for the first time since his surgery in November. Head coach Kevin Stefanski confirmed that Penix will practice in team periods starting Monday.
This development opens the door for a quarterback competition between Penix and Tua Tagovailoa, which had been on hold pending Penix's medical clearance. While the competition is expected to commence on Monday, Stefanski has not yet indicated whether Penix will play in the Falcons' final preseason game against the Dolphins on Friday.
