Michael Penix Jr. Confident Rib Injury Won't Be Long-Term
Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Penix Jr. was unable to complete the game against the Baltimore Ravens, which ended in a 30-23 overtime loss, due to a rib injury. He expressed confidence that the injury is not serious.
Penix was sacked by Tavius Robinson with 19 seconds remaining in regulation, leading to a fumble. Although he briefly left the field, he returned to throw an incompletion before the game went into overtime. Tua Tagovailoa took over for the extra period but threw an interception, concluding the match.
Following the game, Falcons coach Kevin Stefanski announced that Penix would undergo imaging on Monday. Penix noted that he likely would have returned if the Falcons had received the first possession in overtime, but the cold bench worsened his discomfort. He completed 19 of 32 passes for 240 yards and one touchdown in the game, marking his third appearance this season.
