Michael Penix Jr. Focuses on Knee Recovery Amid QB Competition
The quarterback competition for the Falcons has yet to gain momentum, primarily due to Michael Penix Jr. not being fully medically cleared following his recovery from a torn ACL.
Penix, who sustained the injury in November, reported progress during a press conference, expressing that he feels better each day. Although he was initially expected to be cleared by late August, he mentioned that he could be cleared at any moment.
Currently, Penix does not have a set date for his re-examination, which is necessary for him to participate fully in the competition. He emphasized that his immediate focus is on recovery and improving his strength and confidence in his knee, rather than on securing a starting position.
