Michael Toglia to Undergo Season-Ending Shoulder Surgery

Cincinnati Reds first baseman and outfielder Michael Toglia is set to undergo surgery on his right shoulder, which will end his season. This announcement was made by manager Terry Francona.

Toglia suffered a labrum tear and dislocation during a game in Arizona, where he experienced immediate pain after a diving catch attempt. He was removed from the game and placed on the injured list the following day.

This injury comes shortly after Toglia made his MLB debut on August 11, having previously excelled in Triple-A with a batting average of .273 and 22 home runs this season. The 28-year-old, who had spent his career with the Rockies before joining the Reds, will now remain on the injured list for the rest of the season.
