Michaela Walsh and Kaci Rock Secure Silver Medals at Commonwealth Games 2026

Northern Ireland boxers Michaela Walsh and Kaci Rock both earned silver medals at the Commonwealth Games after losing their respective finals by unanimous decision.

Walsh, competing in her fourth Commonwealth Games, secured her third silver medal, having previously finished second in 2014 and 2018. She was unable to add to her gold medal from Birmingham in 2022, as she was outperformed by Jaismine, with judges scoring the bout 29-28 and 30-27 in favor of Jaismine.

Rock, in her first Commonwealth Games, also finished with silver after losing to England's Sacha Hickey. The judges scored the match 30-27 from four judges and 29-28 from one, reflecting Hickey's control throughout the fight. Jon McConnell will compete for gold in the men's light-middleweight final later today.
