UCLA men's basketball has secured a commitment from Nikola Kusturica, a Serbian forward and a leading candidate for the No. 1 pick in the 2028 NBA Draft. Kusturica, who is 17 years old, is expected to play at least two seasons of college basketball due to draft eligibility rules.

His recent performance at the FIBA U17 World Cup, where he scored 37 points against Team USA in the championship match, showcased his talent. Coach Mick Cronin expressed the need to manage expectations for Kusturica, emphasizing the importance of allowing him to develop without undue pressure.

UCLA's roster has been bolstered by Kusturica's arrival, marking a significant addition after a busy offseason in the transfer portal. The Bruins are projected to rank in the top 20 of the AP Top 25 poll, a notable improvement from being unranked prior to Kusturica's commitment.
