Micky van de Ven Extends Contract with Tottenham Hotspur

Micky van de Ven, a defender for Tottenham Hotspur, has signed a new long-term contract with the club, reaffirming his commitment to its future. The Netherlands international originally joined Tottenham from Wolfsburg in 2023 on a six-year deal, which now extends beyond 2029.

Van de Ven's decision to stay was influenced by the appointment of manager Roberto de Zerbi in March. He played a key role in helping Spurs win the Europa League in 2025 and captained the team during the final matches of the previous season, ensuring they avoided relegation from the Premier League.

De Zerbi praised Van de Ven, calling him one of the best centre-backs in Europe and highlighting his importance to the team's ambitions. Since joining, Van de Ven has made 96 appearances and earned 24 caps for the Netherlands, participating in the recent World Cup. Tottenham has been active in the transfer market, spending £237 million this summer, including a record £100 million on Sandro Tonali.
