Miguel Rojas Expected to Return for NLCS After Cortisone Injection
Miguel Rojas, an infielder for the Dodgers, is expected to be available for the National League Championship Series (NLCS) after receiving a cortisone injection to alleviate a back injury. He was removed from Game 3 of the National League Division Series (NLDS) and did not participate in Game 4.
Rojas had previously started in Game 2 against the Braves and again in Game 3, where he was taken out during an at-bat in the eighth inning. Throughout the season, he has been utilized primarily against left-handed pitchers, achieving a .293 batting average with four home runs in those matchups.
As the Dodgers prepare for the NLCS, manager Dave Roberts indicated that the team would add a long reliever to the roster. This adjustment comes as the Dodgers plan to field 13 position players and 13 pitchers, contrasting with their NLDS configuration of 14 hitters and 12 pitchers. Additionally, the status of Shohei Ohtani in the batting order remains uncertain as he continues to recover from injuries.
