Mike Brown Discusses Knicks Center Competition
Mike Brown has noted that three NBA players are vying for a single center position on the New York Knicks, which is beneficial for the team's training camp but poses a challenge for the two players who may not secure a spot.
James Wiseman, Drew Eubanks, and Tony Bradley are competing for the third center role behind Karl-Anthony Towns and Andre Drummond. Brown expressed his belief that all three players deserve to be on an NBA roster this season, highlighting their legitimacy as players.
All three are currently on Exhibit 9 contracts, which would convert to standard, non-guaranteed minimum deals if they make the opening-night roster. The Knicks have 13 players with guaranteed contracts, allowing for the possibility of retaining two centers, but doing so would exceed the payroll limits set by owner James Dolan. Brown acknowledged the strengths of each player, indicating that the decision on who to keep will not be straightforward.
