Mike D'Antoni Inducted into Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame
Mike D'Antoni has been inducted into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame as part of the 2026 class, joining notable figures such as Doc Rivers and Candace Parker.
During his Hall of Fame speech, D'Antoni reminisced about his time with the Knicks, particularly the 'Linsanity' era led by Jeremy Lin, who was present in the audience. He acknowledged the significance of this period in his career, recalling how Lin, initially on a 10-day contract, transformed the team's fortunes.
Although D'Antoni's record with the Knicks was 121-167 and he only made the playoffs once, the 'Linsanity' phenomenon remains a cherished memory for fans. D'Antoni later went on to have a successful coaching career with the Houston Rockets.
