Mike Evans Anticipates Return for Week 1 Despite Groin Injury
Mike Evans, a wide receiver for the 49ers, did not participate in practice on Tuesday because of a groin injury. His training camp has been limited due to various injuries, including a quad strain earlier in the camp.
Head coach Kyle Shanahan indicated that the team anticipates Evans will return to practice next week. ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reported that Evans is optimistic about being ready for the Week 1 matchup against the Rams in Melbourne, describing the injury as minor.
Other players, including defensive end Nick Bosa, wide receiver Jacob Cowing, and cornerback Upton Stout, are also expected to resume practice next week. Meanwhile, tight end George Kittle may increase his participation in team drills as he continues to recover from Achilles surgery.
