Mike McDaniel Discusses Running Back Strategy for Chargers
Omarion Hampton, a running back for the Chargers, expressed optimism about the impact of offensive coordinator Mike McDaniel on the team's running backs during a press conference on Monday.
McDaniel addressed whether Hampton would be utilized as a primary back in his second NFL season, indicating that while there would be chances for Hampton to receive many touches, he also plans to incorporate Keaton Mitchell and Kimani Vidal regularly. The distribution of touches will be determined dynamically during games rather than pre-planned.
McDaniel noted that while all three running backs are expected to perform well, the unpredictability of their usage may pose challenges for fantasy football players. However, he believes that a strong running game will benefit the Chargers and quarterback Justin Herbert, regardless of which player leads the charge.
