Mike Tomlin Questions Effectiveness of Cowboys' Players-Only Meeting
The Dallas Cowboys recently conducted a players-only meeting following their disappointing 2-3 start to the season. Mike Tomlin, former head coach of the Pittsburgh Steelers, expressed skepticism about the meeting's potential to turn the team's fortunes around.
During a podcast appearance, Tomlin stated that the need for such a meeting often indicates deeper issues within the team. Cowboys linebacker DeMarvion Overshown mentioned that the meeting aimed to foster open communication after a loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Head coach Brian Schottenheimer acknowledged the accountability shown by players and described the meeting as productive.
Despite the players' efforts to address their challenges, the Cowboys' defense remains a significant concern, ranking low in points and yards allowed. The team has brought in former Browns coach Mike Pettine to assist with defensive strategies, but Tomlin believes the situation may already be dire for the Cowboys.
