Mike Trout Breaks Home Run Drought with First HR Since August

Mike Trout, the star player for the Los Angeles Angels, ended a lengthy home run drought on Friday by hitting a solo homer against the Washington Nationals at Nationals Park. This marked his first home run since August 10, breaking a 27-game stretch without a long ball.

The 35-year-old connected with a full-count pitch from Nationals pitcher Cade Cavalli, sending the ball over the center-field wall to give the Angels a 1-0 lead. This home run was Trout's 21st of the 2026 season and his 52nd run batted in.

Trout's previous home run had been against the Texas Rangers, and the 27-game drought was the second-longest of his career. He had been batting .244 with 20 home runs and 51 RBIs over 127 games prior to this game. The home run also marked Trout's first at Nationals Park, one of the few stadiums where he had not previously hit a home run.
