The Athletic released the results of its internal review concerning Dianna Russini's reporting, following the emergence of photos that indicated her relationship with Mike Vrabel, head coach of the Patriots.

Vrabel missed the last day of the draft to attend counseling after the photos surfaced. The review concluded that the relationship breached The Athletic's standards, although the investigator, Mike Semel, noted there was no definitive evidence that Russini used her position to promote Vrabel or his teams, despite some of her favorable writings appearing awkward.
