Millwall Re-signs Romain Esse on Loan from Crystal Palace

Millwall has re-signed winger Romain Esse from Crystal Palace on loan until the end of the current season. The 21-year-old previously began his professional career at Millwall, where he made over 60 appearances before transferring to Palace in January 2025 for a reported fee of £12 million.

Esse scored shortly after joining Palace but faced limited playing time at Selhurst Park. He spent the latter half of last season on loan at Coventry City, contributing to their Championship title win with two goals in 17 league appearances. His return to Millwall comes as the club's 12th signing of the summer, filling the gap left by Femi Azeez's departure to Brighton & Hove Albion.

The loan agreement was finalized before the transfer window closed at 23:00 BST on Tuesday, with the announcement made the following morning. Millwall's director of football expressed confidence in Esse's potential, noting his previous impact at the club.
