Milo Beimers Embarks on 2000-Mile Journey to Find New Football Club
Milo Beimers, an 18-year-old goalkeeper, is on a 2000-mile road trip across Europe with his father in a converted van, aiming to secure a new football club. The journey began in Belfast, where they traveled to Dublin and then took a ferry to France before heading to Spain for trials.
During their travels, the duo plans to explore various clubs in Spain and Portugal, including a session with third division team Hercules. While the exact clubs are not disclosed, they span across multiple tiers of football. The van, which was previously in poor condition, has been converted into a mobile home, allowing them to travel, sleep, and cook on the road.
Beimers is also learning Spanish to better integrate during his trials. He acknowledges the risks of his unconventional approach but believes it opens up opportunities that might not have been available if he had stayed in Northern Ireland. His ultimate goal is to play at the highest level, with aspirations to compete against top European teams.
