Minkah Fitzpatrick to Appeal NFL Fine for Hit on KC Concepcion
Minkah Fitzpatrick, safety for the Jets, announced that he has been fined by the NFL for a hit that caused a concussion to Browns wide receiver KC Concepcion during a game on Sunday.
While Fitzpatrick did not disclose the amount of the fine, he confirmed his intention to appeal it. He described the incident as a football play, emphasizing that he was relieved to see Concepcion back at practice this week, despite the player still being in concussion protocol.
The hit occurred in the first quarter when Fitzpatrick removed Concepcion's helmet, followed by a penalty for unnecessary roughness shortly thereafter. Fitzpatrick expressed confusion over the league's definition of hitting a defenseless player, asserting that he believes a player with the ball is fair game for a tackle.
