Misbah-ul-Haq Critiques PCB's Approach to Pakistan Cricket After Resignation
Misbah-ul-Haq, the former captain of the Pakistan Test cricket team, has expressed his discontent with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) following his resignation as national selector. His criticism comes after the PCB's decision to send seven players and two coaches home during the ongoing Test tour in England.
Misbah highlighted the PCB's reactive approach, which he believes undermines the team's stability. He pointed out that local coaches face more scrutiny compared to their foreign counterparts, who are often given more authority and less criticism when results are poor. Misbah emphasized that while he supports the inclusion of foreign coaches, there should be a balanced treatment of all coaches.
He cautioned against making hasty decisions under pressure, advocating for a thorough analysis of team performances before implementing changes. Misbah compared Pakistan's cricketing structure to India's, noting that India's gradual development has contributed to their success. He stressed the importance of providing young players with more red-ball cricket exposure to prepare them for high-pressure situations.
