Mitch Georgiades and Willem Drew Undergo Off-Season Surgeries
Mitch Georgiades and Willem Drew from Port Adelaide have recently undergone minor surgeries during the off-season. Georgiades had a shoulder arthroscopy to address ongoing discomfort, while Drew underwent a plantar fascia release after previously having the same procedure on his other foot.
Both players are expected to be ready for the start of pre-season training on November 9. Georgiades, who had a successful season scoring 51 goals, is contracted until 2029 and is considered a vital player for the team. Drew has also taken on a leadership role, especially during times when other players were unavailable.
The club is looking forward to the return of Connor Rozee, who played only two games this year due to a significant hamstring injury. Port Adelaide faces a busy off-season, with Zak Butters likely leaving and Pick 1 prospect Dougie Cochrane remaining with the team.
