Mitch Starc Shines as Australia Fights Back Against South Africa
Mitch Starc showcased an impressive bowling display as Australia battled back on the first day of the third Test against South Africa in Cape Town. After a challenging start, the Australian team managed to dismiss South Africa for 329.
Initially, Australia struggled after captain Pat Cummins made the controversial decision to send South Africa in to bat. The Proteas openers, Marques Ackerman and Aiden Markram, capitalized on the conditions, putting together a strong partnership of 158 runs. Ackerman fell short of a century, scoring 95, while Markram contributed 78.
However, the momentum shifted when Josh Hazlewood took a spectacular catch, leading to a South African collapse. Starc then delivered a devastating spell, claiming four wickets in six balls, including a hat-trick, as Australia ended the day on a high note.
