Mitchell Mesenbrink Cast in Dan Gable Biopic

Penn State wrestler Mitchell Mesenbrink, known for his achievements as a two-time All-American and national champion, is set to star in the upcoming biopic titled Gable, which focuses on the renowned wrestling coach Dan Gable.

Mesenbrink will take on the role of Ben Peterson, a fellow wrestler who trained with Gable and competed in the Olympics. He expressed gratitude for being selected among a talented cast that includes actors like Mireille Enos and Ben Foster. The film's director, Jon Greenhalgh, contacted Mesenbrink through the Nittany Lion Wrestling Club, and he underwent a rigorous audition process to secure the part.

Filming took place over the summer at the University of Illinois, although the release date for the film has not yet been announced. Mesenbrink enjoyed the experience of working on set and interacting with established actors, and he received guidance from both Peterson and Gable during production. He remains optimistic about his acting future despite this being his debut on screen.
