MLBTR Projects Super Two Cutoff for 2026-27 at 2.130 Years
MLB Trade Rumors has estimated that the Super Two cutoff for the upcoming arbitration class will be around two years and 130 days, based on calculations as of July 31. This figure may change slightly due to notable transactions occurring in August or September, but the official cutoff will not be confirmed until the season concludes.
Players qualify for arbitration after accumulating three years of service time, unless they have a guaranteed contract. For those with two to three years of service, the top 22% in terms of service time can also qualify, provided they were active or on the injured list for at least 86 days during the most recent season. Recent Super Two cutoffs have varied, with the lowest being 2.115 and the highest 2.146 in previous years.
If the projected cutoff of 2.130 holds, players such as Rico Garcia, Tyron Guerrero, and Quinn Priester are expected to qualify, while Randy Vásquez, Riley O’Brien, and Drey Jameson are likely to miss out. The upcoming collective bargaining agreement may influence future arbitration processes, with a lockout anticipated as the current CBA expires on December 1.
