MLS Fines Coaches of Toronto FC and CF Montreal for Public Criticism
The Major League Soccer (MLS) announced on Friday that it has imposed fines on Toronto FC head coach Robin Fraser and CF Montreal head coach Phillipe Eullaffroy for breaching the league's public criticism policy.
Fraser's violation occurred after Toronto's match against Charlotte FC on August 19, where he expressed dissatisfaction with the officiating during the 3-3 draw. Eullaffroy's infraction took place following Montreal's match against LA Galaxy on August 22, where he also criticized the referees after a 2-2 draw.
Fraser highlighted the challenges of competing in the league when he feels the officiating is against his team, while Eullaffroy remarked on the perceived lack of respect from officials, noting that many fans believed a penalty should have been awarded during their match.
