Mohamed Salah Approaches Move to Saudi Pro League, Potential Rivalry with Cristiano Ronaldo

Mohamed Salah is reportedly close to joining Al Ittihad in the Saudi Pro League, which would position him as a rival to Cristiano Ronaldo, who plays for Al Nassr. Salah, who recently left Liverpool after nine years, has accepted an annual salary offer of around $25 million from Al Ittihad.

The transfer, however, hinges on the future of Moussa Diaby, who Al Ittihad initially planned to sell to accommodate Salah. Diaby has expressed a desire to leave and is in talks with Inter Milan and Bayer Leverkusen, complicating Salah's potential move.

If the transfer is finalized, Salah would join Ronaldo, who recently extended his contract with Al Nassr until 2027 and led the team to the Saudi Pro League title last season. Meanwhile, other clubs, including Trabzonspor and Besiktas, have also shown interest in Salah, but discussions with Al Ittihad are reportedly progressing.
