Mohamed Salah Joins Trabzonspor on Free Transfer After Leaving Liverpool
Mohamed Salah has officially joined Trabzonspor, a team in the Turkish Super Lig, on a free transfer after leaving Liverpool this summer. His departure followed a mutual agreement to end his contract a year early, concluding a nine-year tenure at Anfield.
During his time at Liverpool, Salah scored 257 goals in 442 appearances, making him the club's third-highest goalscorer. His new contract with Trabzonspor is for two years, and he is expected to earn around £15 million annually.
Salah's exit from Liverpool came after a challenging season, which included being dropped by the coach. Despite interest from clubs in Saudi Arabia, he opted for the Turkish league, where he will have the opportunity to compete in European competitions, as Trabzonspor is likely to participate in the Europa League next season.
