Mohammad Rizwan Challenges Cyber Crime Agency Summons in Lahore High Court

Pakistan wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan has approached the Lahore High Court to contest summons issued by the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA). This legal action follows his appearance before the agency last week, where he raised concerns regarding the legitimacy of the investigation and the authority of the NCCIA to summon him.

Rizwan filed a writ petition, arguing that there are no specific allegations against him and questioning the jurisdiction of the NCCIA. His challenge comes after both he and fellow player Imam-ul-Haq were called for questioning in the wake of Pakistan's 3-0 Test series defeat in England. They were required to complete detailed questionnaires regarding their travel and financial history, among other personal matters.

The inquiry by the NCCIA may be connected to an internal investigation by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), which has initiated a disciplinary review following reports about player conduct. The PCB has stated that the review will consider factors beyond performance, as the team faced significant losses in the recent series.
