Mohammad Rizwan's Lahore HC Plea Dismissed; PCB Awaits NCCIA Findings

The Lahore High Court has rejected a petition from cricketer Mohammad Rizwan challenging notices issued by the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA). This decision comes as the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is poised to determine any disciplinary measures against Rizwan and fellow player Imam-ul-Haq, pending the NCCIA's investigation results.

During the court session, Chief Justice Aalia Neelum advised Rizwan to respond to the notices he received. Rizwan's attorney argued that his client was questioned without prior notice and that his mobile phone was confiscated under the pretense of a brief return. The lawyer also contested the NCCIA's jurisdiction, suggesting that the ICC Anti-Corruption Unit should handle such matters.

The NCCIA is currently conducting a forensic analysis of the mobile phones taken from both players, with findings expected to be submitted to the PCB shortly. The PCB's subsequent actions will depend on these findings, which will clarify whether any irregularities were detected.
