Mohun Bagan Prepares for Key Match Against Punjab FC

Mohun Bagan Super Giant is set to host Punjab FC in a significant Indian Super League match at Salt Lake Stadium on Saturday, aiming to utilize their home advantage.

The teams are closely matched, with Punjab holding seven points from three matches and Bagan trailing with six points from the same number of games. Punjab enters the match unbeaten, recently securing a 3-2 victory against Churchill Brothers, thanks to a last-minute goal from Sanathoi Singh. Meanwhile, Bagan looks to build on their recent 1-0 win over Chennaiyin FC, where Manvir Singh scored the decisive goal in the 85th minute.

This match also marks a continuation of their recent rivalry, as the teams previously faced off in the IFA Shield semifinal earlier this month, ending in a goalless draw before Bagan won in penalties. Historically, Bagan has dominated their encounters in the ISL, winning all five previous matches, including a 3-2 victory in April. Punjab will aim to break this streak and assert itself as a title contender.
