Montez Sweat Suspended for Two Games by NFL
Montez Sweat, the starting defensive end for the Chicago Bears, has been suspended for two games due to a violation of the NFL's performance-enhancing substances policy.
The NFL confirmed that Sweat's suspension is without pay and is standard for a first offense involving a positive test for certain substances. He will miss the upcoming game against the Falcons and the following Thursday night matchup against the Patriots, with a return scheduled for Week 8 against the Seahawks.
Since joining the Bears from Washington in a trade earlier this season, the 30-year-old Sweat has participated in all five games, contributing two sacks and playing 69 percent of the team's defensive snaps.
