Montez Sweat Suspended for Two Games by NFL
The Chicago Bears will be without edge rusher Montez Sweat for the next two games due to a suspension imposed by the NFL for violating its performance-enhancing substances policy. The league announced the suspension on Tuesday, and Sweat will be eligible to return on October 23.
As a result of this suspension, Sweat will miss the upcoming road game against the Atlanta Falcons and the Thursday Night Football matchup against the New England Patriots. His first game back is scheduled for November 2 against the Seattle Seahawks.
In the first five games of the season, Sweat recorded seven tackles and two sacks, ranking third on the team in sacks. Despite a slow start, he remains a crucial part of the Bears' defensive lineup. The team will rely on Dayo Odeyingbo and Austin Booker to fill the gap during his absence, although Odeyingbo's availability is uncertain due to a recent injury.
